Message from our CEO

Dear Educator,

Please stay for long enough to read this message.

Socrait is not an SIS. Socrait is not an AI wrapper for schools. Socrait is not an AI chatbot or tutor for students.

What Socrait does is something you’ve never seen before in EdTech. It is so different, we don’t have direct competitors. Every person who comes to a Socrait demo is surprised by what we do and the impact it could have on teachers and schools.

Let me tell you how we got here.

I am a teacher. I’ve been teaching since my parents put a chalkboard up in my room when I was 3 (yes, that’s actually me). My favorite memories are being with students who are learning and growing into their future selves. After 30 years of teaching, I still walk into a classroom every day, and the reason I do is that it is still my favorite part of the day.

Except for 2024. In 2024 I experienced burnout. I was still teaching to my highest standards every day, but I could no longer get the requirements of the job done. But I paid attention to why I was so exhausted – and the reality was that it was two things:

1) the day of a teacher is cognitively overwhelming and
2) if you can’t remember what happened, you can’t finish your end of day tasks.

Repeat this day after day and you start to spiral down a rabbit hole of despair. Why do a job that is so hard if you can never succeed at it?

Our national teacher crisis has me worried. 50% of teachers are planning to leave the profession. New teachers rarely stick.

Over the last several decades, teachers have been expected to take on more and more responsibilities in the classroom. Teachers need to differentiate for a wider variety of learners. Teachers need to implement new strategies championed by their school leaders. Teachers are expected to collect data on their teaching and their students. And all of this is supposed to happen while they teach for 6-8 hours in a row with no meaningful break to process, take notes, and follow up.

Socrait lightens the cognitive load on teachers and helps them complete end-of-day tasks.

There is a future out there where teachers say “do you remember when we had to remember everything and follow up after class without help?” We are building that future. And what we build over the next years is going to give teachers and schools educational superpowers.

Thanks for reading the message. Now, leave if you must, but we really hope you stay to learn more.

Socrait holds the day, so you don’t have to carry it home

You already say it out loud all day: the praise, the warnings, the reminder to follow up with a parent, the kid that was absent that you need to send assignments to. Socrait is a voice-powered class companion that listens while you teach and turns what you already say into behavior notes, drafted parent communication, class summaries, task reminders, and attendance signals.

Relief

“It just takes this mental load off me. I was using a lot of my brainpower throughout the day to correct these small behaviors, and I didn’t realize how much they were adding up. It helps bring me back to that moment, so I can accurately give a description to the parents.”

Brandi Holycross

Elementary Teacher, Premier Arts Academy

Insight

“The praises and the warnings were very enlightening for me as a teacher to be like, whose names am I saying  over and over again? Sometimes it’s the same kids and it’s warranted. It’s for me to look at at the end of the day, and ask myself, who am I not praising when I should be praising?”

Support

“What I came to realize about using Socrait in that class—the class that almost made me wish I had a different career—is that I was no longer constantly thinking about discipline. I could just exist in the moment and not actively try to remember the bad. Socrait remembered it for me. I didn’t dread the next day. I could walk in, do it, and walk out. There’s something psychological about taking that weight off—having Socrait handle remembering everything.”

Jessie Rezba

Teacher and Union Leader, Herscher High School

Joy

“I love the email feature, because I don’t have to worry about it sounding professional.  In Socrait, it’s already typed up for me, and I literally just copy and paste.”

Teacher, Claggett Creek Middle School

Teacher Data & Trust

Teachers are the heart of any classroom experience and their trust in a tool will make or break any utility downstream. Socrait is not a teacher surveillance tool. At Socrait, we give teachers control of their data.

Admins will only see aggregated data about students or overall school usage data. If a teacher wants to share something else, that is their choice to share it. Admins can’t see the specific words teachers used, class summaries, assignments, or to-do reminders.

Building trust across schools starts with clear communication and better data transparency. The more teachers using Socrait, the more everyone benefits, from principals, to SPED coordinators, to parents, to students. Socrait’s unbiased data can help schools build better relationships that focus on positive classroom experiences.

“I needed something tangible to tell the parents. That’s what makes me feel safe with Socrait as a union leader, it’s just the numbers. Positives and negatives.”

Insights Platform for Schools

Socrait’s voice-powered classroom companion helps teachers remember all the data from the day without having to actually remember all the data from their day. This aggregated data can then be used by leaders, staff, and PBIS/MTSS specialists to gain insights into student success and student outcomes. School leaders have their own dashboard for viewing aggregated behavioral pattern insights across their school.

“I’ve noticed that the classrooms with teachers who have Socrait have fewer behavioral issues in them. Through a variety of changes this year, including Socrait adoption, we’ve been able to reduce our behavior issues 70% this year.”

Keith Debono

Secondary Vice Principal
Beehive Science and Technology Academy

Socrait has been designed to support schools with MTSS tier 1 data collection, PBIS tracking, IEP and BIP meetings, parent-teacher meetings, and any place where “what happened in class” data matters.
