Data Visibility
Who Sees What Data in Socrait
Teachers and school leaders have different data available to them in Socrait.
For Teachers
We firmly believe this is your voice, your data, your peace of mind. Learn more about what teachers use this data for on our page for teachers.
What your administrators cannot see:
Your praise and warning tally for any class or period
Your class summaries
Your data logs, including the individual language you used
Your data logs, including the individual language you used
Your task reminders
Your great behavior insights notifications
Your classroom moments notifications
There is no report that segments data by teacher. There is no report that segments by class.
What they can see
Administrators can open a student profile for any student in the building, including students in your classes, and see that student’s behavior over time and a summary of it.
They can also see a schoolwide chart of praises and warnings over time. That chart is the whole building at once. It does not break out by teacher, class, or period.
The schoolwide student list shows each student along with their class, teacher, and period, so that a leader following up on a student knows who to talk to.
For School Leaders
School leaders see schoolwide patterns and student based data to help them track and intervene. We believe this data has great potential to improve school behavior management, positive culture, and timely student interventions. Read more about Socrait for schools here.
The Admin Dashboard includes:
A schoolwide chart of praises and warnings over time
A schoolwide list of students, showing class, teacher, and period
Student profiles with a breakdown of behavior and engagement
Student behavior over time, with a summary
What you cannot see
Any view segmented by teacher, class, or period. The only segment available is by student.
Questions we get asked
What if a teacher wants to delete the data for a class?
We believe teachers own their data. If you want to delete a day, there’s a button for that.
Can schools delete their data?
If a school ends a contract, we delete it within 90 days. If a teacher wants to delete their data, they can send request to [email protected].
If a parent requests records, does this fall under that?
It is FERPA protected data, so parents would need to make a request to the school directly.
